This was my husband's great-aunt Gilly's tapestry. I was moved by how faded the flowers were in the original composition, reminding me of the drab Victorian hair flower pieces seen in antique shops and museums. Matching the colors of the original worn threads, I stitched hair into the tapestry in a futile attempt to resuscitate the floral composition, bringing it "back to life."
